College Admissions & Applications

College Application & Admissions Coaching

One-on-one help with your college applications and admissions essays — from a professor and journal reviewer who has spent her career on the other side of the desk, deciding who gets in.

Working with students in Greater Boston and anywhere in the world, online.

College application help from someone who evaluates the work.

Most applicants are guessing at what admissions readers actually want. I’m not. As a professor, doctoral-program director, and journal reviewer, I’ve read thousands of essays and applications from the evaluating side — and I bring that exact lens to yours. Whether you need a college admissions coach for the whole process or focused application essay help on a single personal statement, you work directly with me, start to finish — never a handoff to a junior associate.

Where I help most.

  • Application & admissions essays — Common App personal statements, supplemental essays, and “why us” essays that read as authentic, specific, and memorable.
  • Personal statements — structure, voice, and line-level editing so every sentence does real work.
  • Application strategy & positioning — how to present your story coherently across the whole application, so the pieces add up to more than their parts.
  • Final review before you submit — a last, careful pass from a reader who knows what makes an application stand out.

How it works.

We start with a conversation about where you’re applying and what you’re facing. From there I work with you directly — reading your drafts the way an admissions reader will, telling you honestly what’s landing and what isn’t, and helping you revise until the application is genuinely yours and genuinely strong. Personal, direct, and confidential, from first draft to submit.

“Tiffany has always been great at helping me strengthen my college application essays. I highly recommend her to anyone applying!”

College application coaching, answered.

Do you offer college application help near me, or only online?

Both. I’m based in Norfolk, MA and work with students across Greater Boston in person or online, and with students anywhere in the world over video. Most of my coaching happens online, so where you live is rarely a limit.

What does a college application coach actually do?

I help you decide what to say and how to say it — shaping your essays, sharpening your personal statement, and making sure your whole application tells one clear, compelling story. Because I’ve evaluated applications myself, I can tell you how yours will actually read to the people deciding.

Can you help with just one essay, or the whole application?

Either. Some students come for focused application essay help on a single Common App or supplemental essay; others want an admissions coach alongside them for the entire process. We’ll scope it to what you need.

How early should we start?

Earlier is better — ideally the summer before applications are due — but I regularly help students strengthen essays on tighter timelines too. If a deadline is close, reach out and we’ll make a plan.

Do you also help with graduate and professional-school applications?

Yes. Graduate school, faculty, and fellowship applications are a core part of my work — ask me about graduate application help and personal statements for advanced degrees.

How do we get started?

Book a consultation and tell me where you’re applying. We’ll talk through your goals and figure out the right level of support.
