Graduate & Doctoral Applications
Graduate School Application Help
Expert help with your graduate and doctoral applications — statements of purpose, personal statements, and the whole package — from a professor and doctoral-program director who reviews applications and sits on the committees that decide.
For applicants in Greater Boston and anywhere in the world, online.
Graduate application help from the person who reads the file.
Admissions committees read hundreds of files, and I’ve been one of the readers. As a professor and doctoral-program director, I know what makes a graduate application compelling and what makes reviewers stop reading — and I bring that directly to your statement of purpose, personal statement, CV, and overall strategy. You work with me the whole way, never a handoff.
Where I help most.
- Statements of purpose & personal statements — the heart of a grad application: focused, specific, and convincing about your fit for the program.
- Application strategy & fit — choosing programs, positioning your background, and framing your research interests.
- CV, résumé & supporting materials — presenting your record the way faculty reviewers expect to see it.
- Final review before you submit — a careful pass from someone who has evaluated applicants firsthand.
How it works.
We start with where you’re applying and what you’re facing. Then I work with you directly — reading your materials the way a committee will, telling you honestly what’s landing and what isn’t, and helping you revise until your application is genuinely strong. Personal, direct, and confidential.

Graduate application help, answered.
Do you offer graduate application help online, or only near me?
Both. I’m based in Norfolk, MA and work with applicants across Greater Boston in person or online, and with applicants anywhere in the world over video. Most of this work happens online.
What’s the difference between a statement of purpose and a personal statement?
A statement of purpose focuses on your academic and research goals and fit with the program; a personal statement is more about your story and motivations. Many programs ask for one, some for both — I help you get each one right.
Can you help with PhD and doctoral applications specifically?
Yes. Doctoral applications, research statements, and demonstrating fit with faculty and programs are a core part of my work — I direct a doctoral program myself.
Do you help with the whole application or just the essay?
Either. Some applicants want focused help on a statement of purpose; others want a coach across the full application. We’ll scope it to what you need.
Do you also help undergraduates with college applications?
Yes — see my college application and admissions coaching for undergraduate applicants.
